W Within the East Bekasi Sub District there are a lot lof unrecycled solid waste which show that the condition of the area in terms of the waste material treatment/dumping is still very poor. East Bekasi Sub-District covers an area of 1349/Ha with a population of around 241.331. The objective of this survey/research is for finding out the composition and the rate of trash dumping within housing complexes, evaluating the condition of the existing trash treatment system and planning the collection and transportation of waste materials with an integrated concept. The sampling method adopted is that of SNI method 19-3964 which is able to calculate the number of inhabitants using the Geometry Method as it has a smaller deviation standard and the accuracy level is higher. From the results of calculation it was found that the produced solid waste at the East Bekasi Sub-District during 2006 was307, 67 m3/day, the waste generation rate each day came to a quantity of 2,09 L/people/day. With a composition of organic trash amounting tp 62, 72 % on an average and non organic trash amounting to 37, 28 %, it appears that the method of treating the waste materials employed by the Cleaning Service Section of the East Bekasi Sub-District is still conventional. There are two alternative of treating the wsate materials. The chosen alternative i.e. alternative I using the trash collecting pattern for permanent housing/dwelling place and using direct individual pattern is used and indirect coomunal pattern. The collecting and transporting cost of Rp. 323.136.-/m3/year. Based on the questionnaire with a 54,48 % respondents, the separation or sorting out method was used the 3 R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) which serve as the basic for the sorting out and treatment of the waste materials. Waste materials have been collected using trash carts, dump trucks and container which is partitioned off. The solid waste that have been collected will be transported direct to be Rawa Aren integrated and Teluk Angsan integrated.
