T This study aims to analyze the effect of changes in the borrow area of ​​core material on the unit price of embankment work on the jragung dam project, semarang regency. the method used is a quantitative-descriptive approach by utilizing primary data in the form of soil laboratory test results and secondary data from project documents. samples were taken by purposive sampling from three borrow area locations with a total of 15 test points. the analysis was carried out through preparation stages, field and laboratory data collection, and technical and economic evaluations. the results showed that the material in the initial borrow area did not meet technical specifications and experienced a volume shortage of 294,896.45 m³ due to the presence of gravel, tuffaceous layers, and organic soil. therefore, a search was conducted for new material sources and obtained material from mount mergi (23–25 km away) which met the technical specifications. however, this change in location had an impact on increasing the unit price of work from rp115,860.00 to rp248,478.00 due to the increase in transport distance and the need for material management, including the use of stockpiles to maintain water content. this study confirms that changes in material sources have a significant impact on the technical aspects and costs of dam construction.
