K Kota lama tangerang merupakan kawasan bersejarah yang memiliki nilai sejarah, budaya, dan arsitektur yang berkembang sejak masa kolonial. oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik elemen fisik pembentuk identitas kawasan kota lama tangerang serta menentukan elemen yang paling dominan dalam membentuk identitas kawasan. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan dominasi metode kualitatif melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam, dan mental mapping, yang didukung oleh data kuantitatif berupa kuesioner persepsi kepada 102 responden serta kuesioner berdasarkan teori image of the city kevin lynch kepada 25 responden.hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh elemen pembentuk citra kota menurut kevin lynch, yaitu path, edge, district, node, dan landmark, berkontribusi dalam membentuk identitas fisik kawasan kota lama tangerang. elemen path didominasi oleh jalan kisamaun, edge oleh sungai cisadane, district oleh pasar lama, kawasan pecinan, dan kampung kali pasir, node oleh pasar lama, serta landmark oleh klenteng boen tek bio. berdasarkan sintesis seluruh hasil penelitian, landmark berupa bangunan bersejarah merupakan elemen yang paling dominan dalam membentuk identitas fisik kawasan kota lama tangerang.
T Tangerang old town is a historic area with significant historical, cultural, and architectural values that have developed since the colonial period. therefore, this study aims to identify the characteristics of the physical elements that shape the identity of the tangerang old town area and to determine the most dominant element in forming its identity. this research employs a mixed-methods approach with a qualitative emphasis, consisting of field observations, in-depth interviews, and mental mapping, supported by quantitative data collected through a perception questionnaire involving 102 respondents and a questionnaire based on kevin lynch\\\'s image of the city theory involving 25 respondents.the results indicate that all five city image elements proposed by kevin lynch—path, edge, district, node, and landmark—contribute to shaping the physical identity of the tangerang old town area. the dominant path is jalan kisamaun, the dominant edge is the cisadane river, the dominant districts are pasar lama, chinatown (pecinan), and kampung kali pasir, the dominant node is pasar lama, and the dominant landmark is boen tek bio temple. based on the synthesis of all research findings, the landmark, represented by historic buildings, is the most dominant element in shaping the physical identity of the tangerang old town area.
