Abstract

A AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Sindrome) merupakan kumpulandari gejala klinik yang disebabkan oleh berbagai macam infeksi oportunistikserta keganasan akibat menurunnya sistem kekebalan tubuh. Lesi padarongga mulut berperan penting sebagai kepastian dari tanda dan gejalapertama seseorang terserang AIDS, perkembangan penyakit, penyebab rasasakit, dan dari penampilan iesi yang lain. Kelainan di rongga mulut yangberhubungan dengan AIDS antara lain ; kandidiasis, virus herpes simplek,hairy leukoplakia, virus varisela, cytomegalovirus, papiloma virus manusia,lesi pada periodontal yang tidak lazim, keganasan, dan manifestasi lainseperti rekuren stomatitis aphtosa, sialedenitis dan xerostomia. Dokter gigiharus dapat mengenali kelainan di rongga mulut yang berhubungan denganAIDS agar penderita dapat segera ditangani secara dini dan dapat mendapatperawatan yang tepat.

A AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is the clinicalsymptoms that occur by accumulation of opportunistic infections andmalignancies that compromises the deficiency of the immune system. Lesionsin the oral cavity are important as a certainty of the first sign and symptom ofpatient with AIDS, disease improvement, the pain caused, and theunacceptable lesion. Abnormality in the oral cavity related with AIDS are;candidiasis, herpes simplek virus, hairy leukoplakia, varisella virus,cytomegalovirus, human papiloma virus, unusual lesion in periodontal,malignancies and other manifestation such as recurent stomatitis apthosa,sialedenitis and xerostomia. A dentist has to diagnose abnormality in oralcavity related with AIDS so that the patients will get early result andappropriate therapy.
