R Restaurants are a favorite destination for gatherings, meetings, or simply enjoying a meal. diners come from a variety of backgrounds, from couples to families. this makes architectural aspects a significant influence on visitor satisfaction, taking into account room layout, lighting, materials, and other architectural aspects that give a restaurant its own distinctive character and uniqueness that can create its own appeal. this research aims to provide in-depth insights for culinary industry players in understanding the important role of architecture in creating a better experience, apart from culinary and service factors. using a qualitative case study approach with embedded units of analysis (industrial, modern, thematic, family), this research found that architectural satisfaction is hierarchical: where fundamental comfort (functionality, ergonomics, thermal) must be met before visitors can fully appreciate the aesthetics. furthermore, this research identified four \\\"meanings\\\" of psychological satisfaction sought by visitors (immersive, functional, communal, and expressive) that depend on the context of the restaurant type. another key finding is the inherent design tension between conceptual aesthetic strength and functional comfort, particularly in industrial-style restaurants, where diners are willing to tolerate a reduction in comfort for an expressive experience.
