B Background: the development of digital technology in dentistry has increased the use of resin-based restorative materials fabricated using 3d printing technology for both temporary and permanent restorations. one of the mechanical properties that plays an important role in the success of fixed dental restorations is compressive strength, as restorations must be able to withstand masticatory forces during function. objective: this study aimed to compare the compressive strength of temporary and permanent 3d-printed dental resins, namely bego varseosmile triniq and pionext temporary. methods: this study was an in vitro experimental comparative study. cylindrical specimens with a diameter of 12.7 mm and a height of 25.4 mm were fabricated using 3d printing technology in accordance with astm d695 standards. each group consisted of seven specimens. compressive strength testing was performed using a universal testing machine (utm) until fracture occurred. data were analyzed using the shapiro–wilk test and the independent t-test with a significance level of α = 0.05. results: the results showed that the mean compressive strength of pionext temporary (100.82 ± 12.01 mpa) was higher than that of bego varseosmile triniq (80.67 ± 5.91 mpa), with a statistically significant difference between the two materials (p = 0.002). this difference may be influenced by variations in material composition, resin structural homogeneity, and failure mechanisms during testing. conclusion: there was a significant difference in compressive strength between the two 3d-printed resin materials. however, a higher compressive strength does not necessarily indicate superior clinical performance; therefore, evaluation of additional mechanical properties is required when selecting restorative materials.
